On April 3, Yamanashi Gakuin University welcomed its newest students at the Spring 2025 Entrance Ceremony. The Entrance Ceremony took place in the Furuya Kinendo, where students from five undergraduate faculties and the graduate school gathered to be formally admitted to the university.

Yamanashi Gakuin University President Takako Aoyama delivered a multilingual address in Japanese, English, and Chinese at the Spring 2025 Entrance Ceremony, reflecting the diverse and international makeup of the student body. In her speech, she encouraged students to view university not only as a place of academic pursuit but also as a place for encountering new ideas, values, and experiences. Quoting the philosopher Seneca’s well-known words, “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity,” she urged students to embrace challenges, grow through experiences, and seize opportunities to realize their full potential.

The Student Representative from the Faculty of Sports Science gave a speech on behalf of the new students, expressing her determination to make the most of university life by actively participating in student clubs and engaging fully in her studies. She shared her aspiration to become a Health and Physical Education teacher in her home prefecture, with the goal of tackling pressing issues such as the decline in children’s physical fitness and the growing disparities in access to exercise and sports opportunities. Finally, the Student Representative concluded her speech with a commitment alongside new students to become individuals that contribute to society.
