The Presidents’ Forum will be held on November 24th in-person and online.
The Alliance of Asian Liberal Arts Universities (AALAU) 6th Presidents’ Forum will be hosted by iCLA on November 24th. A growing network of 29 liberal arts universities across Asia, AALAU organizes an annual gathering of member institution representatives to discuss crucial topics concerning the challenges of liberal arts education and the development of liberal arts in the higher education landscape.
Distinguished speakers and participants from liberal arts universities across Asia will be joining the event. This year, a host of experienced senior academics will be sharing their views on the three themes of:
- “Liberal Arts in a Fragile World;”
- “Liberal Arts in an Age of AI;” and
- “Towards an Employable Liberal Arts.”
Keynote speeches will be delivered by Professor Ikeshima Taisaku of Waseda University, Professor Mark Williams of International Christian University, and Professor Angela Yiu of Sophia University.
Panel discussions will be moderated by Professor Shalendra Sharma of Lingnan University, Professor John O’Dea of The University of Tokyo, and Professor Matthew Ferguson of Mahidol University.
Joining the forum from Yamanashi Gakuin University will be Dean Sanjay Jhingan, Vice-President Professor Yoshiki Takeda, and Dr. John Ricketts.
