Study Abroad Week
That’s a wrap for our Study Abroad Week.
Each day of the Study Abroad Week, some of iCLA’s exchange students presented on their home university. We had student representatives from the following partner universities:
- University of the Philippines (The Philippines)
- University of Aberdeen (United Kingdom)
- BINUS University (Malaysia)
- Augsburg University (USA)
- Acadia University (Canada)
- O.P Jindal Global University (India)
There was useful information on topics such as student life, residence life, academics, and living costs to give iCLA students an idea of what to expect on study abroad. Students were able to gain firsthand information to help them decide their study abroad destinations, as well as prepare goals to achieve during their time abroad.
Volda University College (Norway)
On the final day of Study Abroad Week, delegates from Volda University College (Norway) visited iCLA and gave students a talk to introduce Volda University College, life in Norway, and their exchange program available to iCLA students.
Guests from Volda University College:
Dr. Johann Roppen – Rector
Ms. Marthe Osmundsen – Outgoing Mobility Coordinator
Ms. Iulia Beleuta – Incoming Mobility Coordinator
Study Abroad Program
Study abroad is an invaluable opportunity that can define a student’s academic experience.
By immersing in a completely new environment, students can gain a better understanding of the world and the globalizing society around them.
iCLA’s Study Abroad Program is optional for international students. International students can choose to study at one of our partner universities for one semester or a whole year (based on eligibility). One year of study abroad is mandatory for domestic students to gain global experience.
iCLA recognizes that living in a foreign country can be exciting, but daunting at times. That is why we provide pre-departure info sessions and close guidance by faculty and staff to help students prepare for their journey abroad.
The Study Abroad Application for iCLA students planning to study abroad from Fall Semester 2020 is due: December 13, 2019. See our Study Abroad Page for more details.
Financial support for domestic students is available. Consult our Study Abroad (Outbound) Coordinator at icla.contact@ygu.ac.jp.
