On October 19 and October 20, 2024, Diversity Day was held at iCLA! The event was held as part of Yamanashi Gakuin University’s annual school festival, the Jutoku Festival. This year is the 54th Jutoku Festival. The general public was welcome to visit and enjoy a lively atmosphere filled with delicious food and a variety of engaging activities organized by students.

iCLA students from nine different countries organized vibrant booths to share their cultures with the local community. This year, the countries represented at the event were Australia, Bangladesh, France, Germany, Honduras, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Morocco and The Philippines. iCLA is proud to have a student community of more than 55 nationalities in total.

Students prepared captivating visuals and interactive activities for visitors to learn about their home countries. Many booths also offered authentic tastes of international cuisines – featuring unique treats such as Australian fairy bread, Honduran Coca Cola served in a bag, Kazakh baursak paired with maple syrup and chocolate sauce, Indonesian Indomie, German pretzels, among many other delightful foods and drinks. Visitors could also partake in an educational trivia quiz with questions about each of the countries, with a prize for experiencing all the booths.

iCLA’s Diversity Day is a celebration of the many cultures around the world, encouraging everyone to connect with people from different backgrounds and discover fascinating traditions from every corner of the globe—all under one roof.

We hope visitors enjoyed touring the world with iCLA students!
